The rubber industry is not a new industry, providing a stable source of income for a large part of the people.
In order to provide some general information and support people who need to find information about the rubber industry, we would like to introduce some basic concepts about natural rubber.
Dai Dien rubber: is rubber with a large area, concentrated mainly in companies, enterprises, agro-forestry farms… with an area of several hundred to several tens of thousands of hectares.
Smallholder rubber: is rubber with a small area, scattered from one to several tens of hectares, grown mainly by farmer households. Pre-field rubber is owned by farmers, invested by farmers or by organizations that lend money to farmers to develop natural rubber.
Natural rubber: Natural rubber is a water-in-water emulsion of rubber latex particles with a dry fraction of 28% – 40%. The latex particle size is very small, about 0.05 – 3µ and shaped like an egg. In 1 gram of latex with 40% dry fraction, there are 5,000 latex particles with an average diameter of 0.26µ, all of which are in Browner motion.
(Browner motion: stochastic process, is the movement of particles in a liquid medium)
Artificial rubber: is made from polymerization of single-celled structures including isoprene (2-methyl-1, 3-butadiene), 1,3-butadiene, chloroprene (2-chloro-1, 3-butadiene) and isobutylene (methylpropene) with a small percentage of isoprene for chain bonding.
Latex degree: (determined as the basis for rubber purchasing)
Latex degree(%) = m1(g) : m0(g) * 100
With: m0: mass of water sample before baking, in grams
m1: mass of rubber sample after baking, in grams
Technically standardized rubber SVR (Standard Vietnamese Rubber): physico-chemical criteria of technical-standardized natural rubber according to Vietnamese standards TCVN 3709:2004 and some related issues such as packaging, preservation, transport…; applied to natural rubber produced from the latex (latex) of the rubber tree Hevea Brasiliensis (usually processed in the form of block rubber) and has technical specifications suitable for each grade.
